On the morning of February 27, the Seminar on the Construction of the Research Base of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era at Zhejiang Normal University in 2025 was held in Conference Room 102 of Building 3 of Zhengyang Center. Jiang Yunliang, Director of the Research Base of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era at Zhejiang Normal University in Zhejiang Province and Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang Normal University, Wang Shuping, Member of the Party Committee and Minister of the Organization Department of Zhejiang Normal University, Chen Peihao, Researcher of the Research Center of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in Zhejiang Province, and Zhou Zhishan, Deputy Director of the Research Base of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era at Zhejiang Normal University in Zhejiang Province, attended the meeting. Wang Kun, Deputy Director of the Research Base of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era at Zhejiang Normal University in Zhejiang Province and Dean of the School of Marxism, presided over the meeting. Relevant persons in charge of the Publicity Department and the Social Sciences Office, as well as more than 30 researchers from 15 sub-centers participated in the meeting.

Jiang Yunliang pointed out that in the past year, guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the base has thoroughly implemented the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the Second and Third Plenary Sessions of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and has given full play to its important position as a base for studying, researching and publicizing the Party's innovative theories, achieving certain results in all aspects of its work. 2025 is a crucial year for comprehensively deepening reform, a year for comprehensively laying out and vigorously promoting the construction of a strong education country and a strong education province, and a decisive year for comprehensively promoting the construction of a high-level university. The base should focus on its main responsibilities and tasks, continue to deeply study and interpret Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. With a higher stance, a broader vision and more solid theoretical research, it should better serve the construction of a demonstration zone for high-quality development and common prosperity in Zhejiang. It should focus on high-level academic research, deeply explore and systematically sort out the important theories and major practices of Comrade Xi Jinping during his tenure in Zhejiang. Closely focusing on practical issues, it should introduce high-quality research achievements with greater influence. It should create high-level theoretical brands. Centering around the instructions and approvals of General Secretary Xi Jinping in Zhejiang and Jinhua, as well as the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important reply letter to African scholars of our university, it should carry out in-depth special research, actively serve the local area and strengthen theoretical guidance. It should cultivate high-level theoretical talents, and focus on cultivating a group of young and middle-aged theoretical publicity backbones with outstanding academic abilities, distinct professional characteristics and solid research foundations. Focusing on the transformation of high-level achievements, it should strengthen strategic and countermeasure research, enhance forward-looking, countermeasure-oriented and applied policy research, improve the level of providing advice on government affairs, and promote the transformation of more achievements into decision-making references, providing academic and practical support for the research of innovative theories.
Chen Peihao pointed out that there is no natural gap between theoretical articles and academic articles, and they can be integrated. We should use popular language to promote the popularization of the Party's innovative theories. Chen Peihao shared his work experience with three sentences: “Those who ride the waves have their own direction”, “Those who pursue the light are bathed in the rays of the sun”, and “Those who plow deeply will eventually see the fertile soil”. At the same time, he also put forward suggestions for the next step of the base's work. First, it is necessary to carry out in-depth tracing and origin-tracing research, and excavate the spirit of the important instructions and approvals of General Secretary Xi Jinping during his work in Zhejiang. Second, it is necessary to seize a series of important time nodes and introduce weighty theoretical articles. Third, it is necessary to strengthen the physical operation, improve the system construction, and strengthen the personnel and financial security.
Before the meeting, the base also invited Professor Xiao Weiguang from Shanghai Jiao Tong University to give a lecture and share on the topic of “Theoretical Learning Methods and Theoretical Writing Skills”. Xiao Weiguang pointed out that submitting articles is not an academic “assignment”, but a deep dialogue with the media. Instead of “casting a wide net everywhere”, it is better to tailor the articles by analyzing the positioning of columns, language styles and even the number of words in the layout. He also shared his long-term theoretical learning and writing methods, emphasizing the importance of reading aloud and writing notes, and advocating “reading the original classics, understanding the principles, knowing the truth and writing real articles”.
